What is Bioremediation? How does it work in agriculture?

Posted on: October 27th, 2014

BIOREMEDIATION is the process by which the use of living once cell organisms are employed to effectively decontaminate a pollution system.  The organisms are natural bacteria which are non-toxic, safe for humans and nature.  The by-products are water, carbon dioxide and fatty acids.  Bioremediation is the use of naturally occurring micro-organisms used to enhance the normal biological breakdown.  Bioremediation is proving effective in treating hazardous materials ranging from paper mill toxins and heavy metals, PCB’s, nuclear waste, high sulfur coal, compost sludge, yard waste, and even to mine gold and copper.

ADVANTAGES OF BIOREMEDIATION

  • Economical
  • Easy to use
  • Non-Toxic
  • Non-corrosive
  • Non-hazardous
  • Reduces special equipment needs required by other technologies
  • Fast working

BIOREMEDIATION is a naturally occurring process.  The process has been used for decades to treat wastes such as municipal sewage and effluents from industrial processes such as oil refining and chemical manufacturing.  It is emerging as an extremely efficient alternative technology for the economical treatment of a wide range of environmental contaminants.  It is the world’s oldest–yet newest pollution fighting technology.  The paradox is that man, nature’s most sophisticated organism, is counting on nature’s least sophisticated organism–the single cell microbe–to clean up environmental damage created by man’s vast technological advances.  Bioremediation in essence is proving to be the most significant advance in the history of environmental science –which is to allow us (mankind) to advance our technologies and have a clean world too.

Bioremediation is the utilization of microorganisms.  These microorganisms have been around for millions of years.  When you are dealing with hard compact soil conditions caused by use of heavy machinery and/or too much chemical.  When the soil conditions are not right to keep the microorganisms alive in your soil, your crops suffer.  Microorganisms not only digest the toxicity of excessive chemicals, but it also puts the much needed airspace (tilth) back into your soil and giving the ideal conditions for healthy root systems so your crops can grow.  Our Remedy and Achieve gets that soil back to where it needs to be NATURALLY.  Call us today–you really have nothing to lose and everything to gain.  Best time to spray is in the fall and get it tilled in.  We are farmers helping farmers.
